      We’re recruiting Chief Engineer – Technology, who’ll be responsible for providing technology thought leadership to senior leaders for the Institutional Bank.

      Reporting to the General Manager, Technology, you’ll partner with senior leaders, driving the technology direction for Institutional Banking. Translate business strategy into technical strategy, and be responsible for defining its technical roadmaps. You’ll also help business leaders understand technology concerns by working at the forefront of all technology decisions.

      We are seeking people who can

      • Define technical roadmaps and ensures alignment to reference architecture, enterprise data standards, application simplification and modernisation agendas

      • Define and agree technology components for prioritised work and work with Senior Leasers at quarterly reviews

      • Ensure performance and availability of technology (prod and pre-production)

      • Measure and manage TCO (total cost of ownership) (for run and change/developer productivity) of Technology for your area

      • Remove technology blockers, decouple applications and streamline processes

      • Manage cross-businesses technology interdependencies and prioritise according to the roadmap

      • Embed IT performance metrics to help members understand how they drive overall performance

      • Assist in identifying the right technology and ensure sound architectural decisions are made

      • Ensure IT risks, technical debt and the associated impacts are understood including helping the business area prioritise management of issues/incidents

      • Be the expert in the tech landscape for Institutional Banking technology with a clear vision on trends and capabilities to create competitive advantage

      • Are highly experienced in software / systems engineering, working in an Agile environment

      • Are able to assess and monitor modern technology tools, platforms and applications to deliver solutions and leading-edge products of high quality, while operating at peak performance

      • Can show the ability to work across teams and influence great outcomes, solve problems and operate at times with ambiguity

      • Are comfortable influencing and challenging business and technology stakeholders

      • Have experience in managing diverse stakeholders and expectations and juggle multiple priorities without sacrificing team alignment, engagement, productivity and velocity

      • Show excellent commercial acumen with experience in strategic planning

      • Understands technologies such as .Net, Java, Java Script and database products like Teradata or Oracle

      • Are comfortable managing virtual and indirect teams to facilitate outcomes
