As the Chief Engineer Manager supporting the Acoustic Sensors & Weapons Chief Engineering Organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving the innovation and excellence in our engineering and technology activities.

      The Work
      In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
      •Manage technical directors and/or engineering project managers who support a subset of ASW programs.
      •Be accountable for all aspects of engineering and technology activities within a program, program area, or group of programs.
      •Serve as the primary technical authority and interface with internal program management and external customers.
      •Ensure that proposals have sound technical solutions and schedules, driving affordability.
      •Lead a technical team of cross-functional engineers to ensure successful system/product development and execution.
      •Evaluate and resolve complex issues in a cost-effective, innovative manner.
      •Champion mission success and foster a mission success culture.
      •Direct a team to explore new problem solution areas with novel concepts and approaches, guiding scope definition and prioritizing problems for investigation.
      •Determine appropriate risk posture and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects.
      •Ensure that selected designs are robust and include appropriate margins for safety, performance, producibility, and operational availability/supportability.
      •Ensure that program plans and technical baselines align with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices.
      •Make key decisions that impact businesses, with the failure to achieve objectives resulting in a critical impact on program capabilities.
      •Identify lessons learned and initiate corrective actions to improve future and ongoing programs.
      •Provide technical mentoring and career development support for the team and allocate resources effectively.
      •Lead and direct the technical execution efforts of the program or group of programs.

We look forward to welcoming you to our team. • Bachelor's degree with 14 years of professional experience; or 12 years' experience with a related Master's degree in a STEM field.
      • Experience developing and testing sensor systems
      • Experience as an Engineering Project Manager or Engineering Manager
      • Experience leading engineering teams
      • Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship. • Understanding of sonar, torpedoes, mechanical and electrical design, and 1LMX modern engineering practices.
      • Experience interfacing with production and supporting corrective actions.
      • Effective Presentation & Communication Skills
      • First Line Management Experience
