- Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and other key stakeholders in the development of the Company’s long-range plan in support of its strategic vision while providing financial advice and strong counsel on day-to-day operating issues, allowing for a broader understanding of how to optimally manage the business
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team. Take an active role in helping the CEO manage the business
- Build, lead and develop a high performing, forward thinking finance team with strong partnerships across the organization. Evaluate and strengthen the Finance team by developing a proactive finance function with disciplined, repeatable processes and stakeholder partnerships across the Company
- Establish and promote a strong understanding of financial processes and disciplines across all levels of the business
- Accounting: With the assistance of the Head of Accounting, be responsible for the implementation and management of the accounting structure, methods, systems, operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Investor & Board Relations: Working closely with the CEO and other senior executives, lead communication and interaction with the shareholders, banks and other corporate partners.
- Audit: Working with the external auditor, oversee the internal audit function and liaise with the Audit Committee while ensuring best practices (e.g., IT, financial and operational).
- Control: Responsible for ongoing compliance.
- Planning/Forecasting: Partner with the Head of FP&A and senior management in the development and execution of the strategic plan. Manage corporate-wide financial planning, procedures, metrics, budgeting and forecasting, project specific financial analysis and general risk analysis. This includes the annual budget, quarterly estimates and implementation of a financial strategic plan.
- Real Estate: Oversee the Company’s Real Estate function including all lease negotiations, construction and facilities management.
- Reporting and Analysis: Responsible for the timely and accurate analysis and reporting of financial and associated business information to internal, external and regulatory constituencies.
- Strategic Procurement: Manage a disciplined procurement process to evaluate Cap Ex spend, suppliers, including ensuring the company is achieving optimal contractual terms and agreements.
- Tax: Oversee the Company’s strategic efforts to appropriately minimize its tax liability and complete its tax reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related business discipline is required
- CPA preferred; MBA a plus
- Prior experience managing multiple cross-functional teams in a “big box” or “big-box-like” retailer with a strong background driving year-over-year results, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Background in building and retaining high-performance teams and leading, managing, and developing team members toward personal, departmental, and organizational goals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capable of maintaining a positive attitude, setting priorities, and remaining flexible in an ever-changing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related business discipline is required

Functionally, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all financial plans, financial policies, financial processes and financial relationships of the Company. Relationships include the Company’s shareholders, lenders, and the financial community. The CFO directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, and accounting for the Company and its shareholders. Importantly, they are responsible for developing and delivering timely accounting and financial data to all parts of the Company that support strategic decision making. The CFO is accountable for ensuring all regulatory compliance needs are met.
