- As a member of the executive team, work alongside other members of the SLT to provide visionary leadership, championing change where necessary, to enhance the holistic performance of WVUK.
- Support the decisions the SLT needs to make with sound financial analysis and insights in order for WVUK to increase its impact and remittances by growing the right mix of income and managing the relationship between income and costs.
- Provide oversight and strategic management of all financial, legal, and risk & compliance-related activities for the organisation and work closely with the CEO on governance matters.
- Lead on setting the agenda and engaging the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
- Lead and provide direction to the following functional groups: finance, legal & governance, and risk & compliance developing them to be effective, modern partners to front-line teams.
- Ensure effective treasury management and internal controls for financial systems and processing.
- Oversee risk management for the organisation.
- Provide leadership for serious incident reporting to the Charity Commission and other key regulatory bodies.
- Support the vision and values of WVUK by promoting excellent stewardship of financial resources and being the guardian of the financial and ethical integrity of World Vision’s ministries.
- Collaborate with World Vision International senior finance leaders and other WV Support Office finance directors to learn, share knowledge and develop and improve local and global strategies and systems.
- Oversee multi-year and annual operating budgets, scenario planning, quarterly reviews, re-forecasts, audited annual accounts and monthly management accounts anticipating key trends, opportunities and risks.
- Lead by example to embody WVUK’s Christian mission, vision, and values.
- Be at least 10 years ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified and may have a postgraduate qualification in business, strategy or related fields.
- Be a strategic finance leader with extensive people and financial management experience within at least a medium sized organisation.
- Be a proven leader with the ability to motivate, influence and engage direct reports, senior colleagues, and professionals across diverse fields.
- Experienced or keen to work within a professional, Christian environment.

Salary: Circa £90,250 per annum + good range of benefits
Contract: Permanent, 36.5 hours per week. Part time hours considered.
Location: Milton Keynes – Hybrid – 2 days per week office based.
The Organisation:
WVUK is part of a global partnership which works in over 100 countries and is the largest international children's charity in the world. As a member of the SLT, the Chief Financial Officer for WVUK will be responsible for Finance, Legal, Compliance and Risk, with a team of over 25 people.
WVUK had an annual income of £74.6m in FY23 and has over 200 employees. WVUK is a Christian organisation and has an occupational requirement to appoint a candidate who is an active Christian, to this leadership position.
