- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Proven track record of successfully leading organizations through digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology to optimize financial processes and drive business growth.
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis, including profitability assessments, cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Financial Reporting and Control:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, reports, and disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls.
- Implement effective financial policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
- Strategic Financial Management:
- Ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative financial strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's financial strategy.
- Assess investment opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and evaluate potential risks and returns.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and implement strategies for managing growth capital, including debt financing options and capital raise initiatives, to support the expansion.
- Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
- Optimize cash flow management, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
- Oversee banking relationships, financing activities, and capital structure decisions.
- Implement effective treasury practices to mitigate financial risks and optimize cash utilization.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax obligations including sales, income, payroll, property, etc., and financial reporting standards.
- Manage payroll, currently bi-monthly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory to ensure adherence to financial policies including budget, cash management and inventory valuation expectations.
- Data Analysis and Software Expertise:
- Possess knowledge and expertise in utilizing data analysis tools, such as business intelligence software (Tableau, etc), to extract meaningful insights from financial and operational data.
- Familiarity with integrating and analyzing data from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with experience in leveraging software tools to streamline financial processes.
- Oversee IT to ensure that IT's mission, priorities, and plans are linked to company strategy.
- Overseeing Human Resources:
- Provide guidance and oversight to the HR Manager, ensuring the development and implementation of HR strategies and programs aligned with the company's goals and values.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to attract, recruit, and retain top talent, implementing effective talent acquisition and retention strategies.
- Support the HR Manager in fostering a positive work environment, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, while driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
- Industry Knowledge and Affinity for Coffee and Consumer Brands
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the coffee and consumer brands sector, including market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitive landscape.
- Possess a genuine passion for coffee, food, and consumer brands, showcasing an affinity for the unique challenges and opportunities they present.
- Leverage industry knowledge and passion to provide financial insights and strategies specific to the coffee and consumer brands market.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a positive, high-performance culture and professional development.
- Provide guidance and support to finance staff in executing their responsibilities effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a company culture that drives financial and data acumen across the omni-channel organization.
- Develop and deploy tools and professional development across the organization to foster financial and data empowerment and accountability.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role.
- Strong financial planning and analysis skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Uncompromising ethical standards with a commitment to transparency, accuracy, and accountability.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in strategic financial management, investment analysis, and risk assessment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive financial results.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align financial strategies with operational goals.
- Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools, business intelligence software, and integration of various data sources.
- Industry knowledge and understanding of the coffee and consumer brands sector, including market dynamics, consumer trends, and competitive landscape.
- Affinity for coffee and an appreciation for its quality.
- Ability to leverage industry insights to drive financial strategies and make informed business decisions.
- Passion for staying updated on industry advancements, emerging trends, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred).
- $150,000-$250,000 annual salary
- Full-time employees are eligible for Paid Time Off and insurance coverage per plan terms as well as participation in Verve Coffee’s 401k plan, per plan terms; all employees qualify for paid sick days
- Free coffee with each paycheck
