About the Role
Gap Inc. is seeking a Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer to help bridge gaps to create a better world. This leader will partner closely with the Gap Inc. Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that encourage equity, inclusion, opportunity, and belonging across a matrixed organization, working closely internally with key stakeholders across retail stores, brands and functions including human resources, communications, legal, supply chain, government affairs, and externally with community leaders on broader social and inclusion issues. The Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer will lead Gap Inc. on the journey to integrate inclusion and purpose into everything we do as a company. This role will lead teams to develop a more holistic approach and progressive agenda by broadening focus, integrating work, and amplifying impact through compliance, advocacy, and education to create a greater sense of belonging at the company. This role will lead the teams and functions supporting Gap Inc. DEI initiatives including the Equality & Belonging team and Employee Belonging Groups (EBGs). This role will also provide leadership in collaboration with partners in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Gap Foundation, and Community Support, with significant impact on a large constituent of stakeholders. Championing this work is also aimed at cultivating a culture that matches our values, creates more meaningful relationships with our customers and influences the retail industry at large. This role will seek and ignite opportunities within each function to broaden impact, create meaningful moments that matter, amplify purpose and elevate teams, and advance Bridge the Gap series and platforms.What You'll Do
· Activate strategies and employee experiences that drive a deep sense of belonging, allyship, community connections, and ongoing belonging
· Shape the in-store experience through inclusive products and experiences ensuring our brands express their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in all we do
· Amplify diverse voices to help influence and inform business practices and decisions while integrating foundational DEI learning experiences into ongoing talent development programs
· Leverage strategic partnerships in collaboration with business partners, with key stakeholders including NGOs, trade unions, community leaders, industry organizations, multi-stakeholder initiatives, other brands and companies, and any other appropriate social, environmental, and governmental organizations to raise the bar for the industry and deliver shared value
· Evaluate, and improve diversity programs geared at inclusive hiring practices, promoting diverse talent, collecting and analyzing DEI data, pay equality, advocacy mapping, and cultivating employee allyship and connections
· Continuous review of DEI initiatives and programs to gauge progress and advise improvements; accelerate environmental and human rights leadership across the organization
· Represent the company’s DEI and Sustainability strategies both internally and externally, attesting Gap Inc.’s position as a social, environmental, and community leader with increasingly positive impact
