      GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

      The Division Chief Lending Officer (CLO) directs the region's lending program and supervises all phases of the lending operations. This position guides and directs the activities of all loan personnel. The Division CLO supervises contacts with builders, real estate, and loan brokers.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. Supervises all lending operations. This duty is performed daily, about 75% of the time.
      2. Determines personnel requirements and establishes work schedules. This duty is performed monthly, about 10% of the time.
      3. Responsible for training of departmental personnel. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
      4. Reviewing and evaluating performance; providing recommendations for salary adjustments, promotions, discharges and other personnel-related actions.
      5. Supervises contacts with builders, real estate, and loan brokers.
      6. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
      7. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
      8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 8 years related experience and/or training, and 7 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      COMMUNICATION SKILLS

      Ability to read, analyze, and understand the most complex documents; ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

      Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

      CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

      Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal, logical or scientific symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

      Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

      Supervises a large group (16-25) of employees who are engaged in similar activities.

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting. May involve some travel and/or work is at times, in the evening or during the night hours.

      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

      The work schedule is generally Monday - Friday 8:00 am through 5:00 with occasional overtime required. Some travel may be required in this position.

      -Experience in branch management administration, finance and marketing.
      -Knowledge of lending policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations.
      -Ability to negotiate with vendors.
      -Knowledge of loan participation and purchase agreements.
      -Strong financial analytical and underwriting skills.
      -Extensive supervisory and managerial experience.
      -Ability to evaluate and train others.
      -Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
      -Good oral and written communication skills
      -Ability to lift 15 pounds
