- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- BSN of Bachelor's degree with an MSN/MS(N).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a senior leadership role in a relatively complex acute care hospital.
- Previous CNO or ACNO experience.
- Possesses Illinois RN license.
- Maintain current BLS.
- Missouri RN license preferred.
- Exempt
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $250,000 - $330,000

JOB SUMMARYThe Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides input and strategic direction in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization. The Chief Nursing Officer develops long-range goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's strategic plan. The CNO is accountable for the outcomes associated with the strategic pillars of growth, finance, quality, service, people and community.
The Chief Nursing Officer reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The Chief is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The CNO is an active advocate of Blessing Health System in the community. The Chief Nursing Officer establishes, plans, directs, coordinates, and maintains all standards of nursing practices and operating policies for clinical and nursing departments, and evaluates the nursing services to improve quality care and the utilization of staff resources. Integrates nursing with other functional/clinical areas in the mutual achievement of organizational goals. Facilitates through participation and leadership, the development and maintenance of an effective directed organization. Assures quality patient care is delivered in a safe and effective manner in an environment that promotes cooperation, change and accountability to achieve successful attainment of the hospital's mission.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Corporate Services, Magnet, ICARE standards, adherence to the Code of Conduct, organization policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
The CNO is responsible for all nursing practice across the health system.
