Serves as a strategic thought partner, in a confidential capacity, with the Head of USOBU, providing high-level executive support associated with complex problems, current and future initiatives, strategies, and budgets.
Develops clear understanding of USOBU strategies and key priorities to provide operational leadership as member of the USOBU leadership team.
Demonstrates collaborative leadership and influence necessary to ensure alignment among key stakeholders and seamless execution of project deliverables.
Works cross functionally to ensure the strategic and operational plans are delivered, and launches are effectively implemented.
Develops and executes analytical and tactical strategies to ensure business projects, milestones and policies are completed in a highly effective and timely manner. Example projects may include organizational reviews and redesign as required, systems implementations, integration, and planning and reporting optimization.
Provides ongoing tracking and management of issues and risks related to implementation of USOBU initiatives and strategies with meaningful metrics and summary reports.
Works with Finance partners and USOBU leaders to ensure budget as well as business reviews with the Global Head of OBU and the CEO are effectively planned and managed across the USOBU.
Works with the Global Oncology Business Operations Head, to coordinate USOBU reporting and deliverables into the Global OBU Leadership Team.
Serves as ambassador for the Head of USOBU and leadership team, facilitating communication with other members of the executive team as needed. Anticipates the needs of the USOBU leadership team, providing appropriate support and guidance to ensure the departments are operating efficiently.
Builds and maintains mutually supportive relationships with all levels of management, staff, outside agencies and vendors, when necessary. Works to remove barriers that hamper inter- and intra-department communications. Coordinates and monitors assignments which must be accomplished in conjunction with other senior executives.
Partners closely with HR and communications leaders on matters related to organizational design, structure, culture initiatives, employee experience surveys and organizational communications.
Plays a lead role in the interface with corporate functions and USBU to develop strategic and long range plans supporting the assessment of market and industry trends ensuring that the leadership team is kept up to date with trends and potential risks / opportunities.
Assist the Head of USOBU in day to day responsibilities, ensuring coordination of cross-organizational activity, for example preparing scripts/speeches in partnership with Communications, ensuring consistency and alignment of internal documents / presentations and representing the Head of USOBU at meetings and across the organization where appropriate
Leads US Oncology Leadership Team, Extended Leadership Team, Leadership Advisory Group and Values & Growth Ambassadors meetings including agenda, action planning, tracking deliverables and KPIs
Minimum BS/BA degree with MS/MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience required (business consultancy and commercial experience is strongly preferred; will consider candidates currently in Chief of Staff roles)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience project management, operations, and/or people leadership experience
Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
Strong financial acumen
Ability to influence without authority
Strong business intelligence, analytics, reporting and visualization technical expertise
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong leadership and organizational skills, and able to drive multiple projects to successful, timely completion in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Energetic and hands-on self-starter with a desire to learn new things quickly. Proven ability to refine and improve the organization’s capabilities. Demonstrated track record to effectively handle key organizational matters. Demonstrated track record to proactively identify, assess, and analyze scenarios that may affect operations, and a proven history of taking an institutional perspective.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with a management style which encourages open expressions of ideas, opinions, and a full discussion of differing points of view. Sound judgment and independent initiative.
Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner
Analytical Skills – ability to identify the root cause of problems/opportunities and determine possible solutions
