- Prioritizes COO’s daily tasks which may include calendar management, meeting and event planning, and executive documentation and presentation preparation.
- Prepares for and attends executive level meetings including Executive Board, Advisory Committee, Management Team and Board of Directors meetings which includes preparing agendas, slides and creating minutes.
- Serves as key thought partner and advises COO on the day-to-day operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness and optimizing use of all available resources and staff.
- Responsible for the development and execution of company-wide strategic planning efforts.
- Communicates regularly with Board members and physicians to ensure COO’s vision and strategic priorities are translated from ideation to implementation.
- Drives all logistical components of executive level meetings including agenda creation, note taking, scheduling, organizing AV, developing presentations, communicating with attendees, etc.
- Manages the development, implementation, measurement and monitoring of annual goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with management team members on annual goals and objectives including quarterly check-ins.
- Develops regular communication from COO to management, physicians, and Board members.
- Provides analyses and strategic consultation on major issues affecting the organization and keeps the COO apprised of major issues and risks to identify approaches to resolution.
- Develops annual corporate dashboards to share goals, inputs, and progress regularly to staff and leaders.
- Listens to and advises COO on policy changes.
- Drives execution of priority projects on behalf of the COO and coordinates special projects as needed.
- Strategizes with the COO, MDs and other senior leaders on organizational planning, policy development, and problem resolutions.
- Partners with the COO and other senior leadership to ensure there is effective change management with strong communication and cascading mechanism.
- Performs related job duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in senior leadership with previous COS experience helpful.
- Extensive project management experience, PMP certification desirable.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and the ability to develop/structure presentations with compelling narratives, graphics, and visual design in support of executive presentations.
- Impeccable integrity with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry, medical practice management and implementation of major initiatives
- Seasoned professional with extensive experience working with senior executives and strong attention to detail.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and completing projects on time.
- Strong aptitude for relationship management across all levels of the organization; high level of organization astuteness and leadership skills with exceptional diplomacy and political savvy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and research skills
- Flexibility to work within a fast-paced, changing environment.

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) is seeking a Chief of Staff to join our team.
Summary of Responsibilities:
As the principal aide to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Chief of Staff (COS) will serve as an extension of, and key partner to, the COO to handle a wide range of matters of organizational importance. This individual will manage operations of the office of the COO, coordinate and oversee executive level meetings and strategic initiatives. Serves as a primary liaison with leaders and external constituents to ensure overall effectiveness of the COO office. This role requires strategic leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate complex situations, and the capacity to build strong relationships with high-level internal and external stakeholders.
In conjunction with the COO, the Board, and other senior leaders, the COS will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of OCB’s mission to provide exceptional, state-of-the-art, compassionate, eye care while advancing the field of ophthalmology through education, research, and leadership. They will foster a culture of collaboration and alignment with the OCB values of outstanding patient care, ethics and integrity, fairness, operational excellence, fiscal responsibility, and unity.
Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing, ability to traverse office, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasional lifting to forty pounds. Requires manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, copy machine, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires ability to communicate verbally, normal range of hearing and eyesight, and the ability to prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions, work occasional irregular hours, and may involve contact with upset/irrational patients and family members.
