      Chief Operating Officer - Credit Union

      Springfield, MA - Hybrid (3 days in office per week)

      The Opportunity:

      As the Chief Operating Officer of MassMutual Federal Credit Union (MMFCU), you will be a valued member of a supportive, diverse, and skilled team. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the credit union, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and managing the technology and information security functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the board of directors and senior management team.

      The Team:

      The team is comprised of an operations manager, an operations specialist, a quality control specialist and a compliance officer. The team is expected to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with other business units within the organization.

      The Impact:

      • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that align with the credit union's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

      • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices and standards.

      • Oversee the technology and information security functions, including IT infrastructure, systems, applications, data, and cybersecurity.

      • Manage the operational risk and audit functions, ensuring effective internal controls and mitigation of operational risks.

      • Monitor and evaluate the operational performance and efficiency of the credit union, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation.

      • Identify and evaluate current and emerging security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities that can impact the credit union's operations, innovation, and growth.

      • Anticipate and respond to changes and challenges in the market and the regulatory environment and provide thought leadership and guidance on emerging issues and opportunities.

      • Identify and evaluate current and emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities that can enhance the credit union's competitive advantage, member satisfaction, and operational excellence.

      • Oversee the risk management and compliance activities and ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in business administration, technology, information security, or a related field.

      • 10+ years of progressive experience in the credit union or financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree

      • Extensive knowledge of credit union operations, compliance, technology, and information security.

      • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

      • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and environments.

      • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.

      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

      • Familiarity with credit union system terminology and acronyms.
