      Chief Operating Officer – Independent Review Office (IRO)

      • Seeking an experienced executive to lead transformation in a dynamic statutory agency.
      • 12-month Senior Executive Band 2 opportunity based in Sydney, NSW, with an in-office presence required (flexible working arrangements available).
      • Salary Package starting at $288,000 per annum including superannuation.

      The Opportunity
      The Independent Review Office is at a pivotal moment. As our new Chief Operating Officer, you'll spearhead an enterprise transformation that will set the organisation up for its next phase.

      This is your chance to develop and enhance a high-profile statutory agency where your decisions directly impact public trust and accountability. Supporting the Independent Review Officer, you'll lead from the front as we build on over a decade of experience, modernising our operations, strengthening our governance, and further build the capabilities needed to continue to provide exemplary customer service to the people of NSW.

      Key focus areas:

      • Strategic Leadership: Support the Independent Review Officer to design and implement a next-generation operating model.
      • Operational Excellence: Redesign systems and enablers to support our statutory functions with precision and efficiency.
      • Change Delivery: Lead fast paced and complex transformation projects from conception to sustainable implementation.
      • Stakeholder Management: Renegotiate critical shared service agreements and build strategic partnerships.
      • Capability Building: Develop enterprise-wide capabilities in governance, risk management, data analytics and support for our people.

      The Leader We're Seeking

      You're an accomplished executive who combines strategic vision with operational discipline. Your background includes:

      • Senior executive leadership in complex, regulated environments.
      • Proven track record designing and implementing organisational transformation.
      • Deep expertise in governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
      • Success leading change in public sector or similarly complex stakeholder environments.
      • Strong capability in enterprise systems, data management, and digital transformation.

      • Strategic thinker with exceptional execution skills.
      • Authentic leader who builds trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
      • Resilient change agent comfortable with ambiguity and complexity.
