Support GLR CEOs in leading the Visioning work for the region

Lead overall growth strategy; develop and lead revenue generation and business development strategies and efforts related to the UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth partnership

Drive change initiatives necessary to carry out strategies and ensure that operational decision-making aligns with strategic objectives

Lead the development of the strategic plan/framework for the region while maintaining alignment to the system imperatives

Partner with Regional and facility executive teams to develop strategic plans for Acute Care Services Markets, Facilities, Institutes, Ambulatory and Post-Acute services

Lead rollout of AdventHealth 2030 Aspirations creating strategic management process to oversee process and result

Work with all GME programs to make sure as many graduates as possible are retained in UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR

Explore and build new partnerships to advance service line growth and development

Lead efforts to identify merger or acquisition targets, partnerships, joint ventures and other strategic partnership opportunities

Maintain responsibility for the deal flow process to ensure potential partners align with the mission and culture of AdventHealth, deal terms drive the desired results, and timeliness in deal execution

Develop KPIs for each partnership and a system to monitor them to ensure partnerships deliver on the intended ROI

Provide leadership oversight for the development of high quality, cost efficient and integrated clinical programs within the Service lines across the GLR.

Develop a team that integrates and aligns services across the UCM/AdventHealth GLR

Lead the development of long-range strategic planning and short-term implementation of a coordinated approach to planning

Develop and deploy a multi-year plan including annual tactical plans/objectives to achieve the strategic vision.

Plan and develop a complete succession plan for rollup up to and including own position.

Responsible for establishing the strategic framework for regional marketing campaigns and leading the region’s marketing, partnerships, community engagement, sales and communications enterprise.

Provide oversight of strategic communications and innovative solutions for GLR including media relations, issues/crisis management, internal communications, team member advocacy engagement, physician and nursing communications, external stakeholder communications, integrated communications, change management, social media, and other new media platforms.

Participate fully in community organizations and initiatives to position the region as an indispensable community partner and identify strategic community engagement, marketing partnerships and opportunities.

Develop and implement the Foundation fundraising planning, cultivation, and solicitation activities region-wide to secure donation of funds and gifts.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) position at University of Chicago Medicine/AdventHealth Great Lakes Region (UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR) in Illinois.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer of UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR, the Region CSO provides master orchestration of vision, strategic planning, and capital deployment, and drives sustainable revenue growth, strategy, and business development aligned with current and future state trends within the industry. The CSO initiates and identifies new portfolio strategies, portfolio prioritization and tracking/dashboarding of these priorities and translates the system strategy across the UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR and health system, leading region-wide planning, coordination, and implementation of strategic plans.
The CSO ensures execution of the strategic planning processes to create and achieve brand loyalty, business growth, competitive advantage, market relevance and sustainability through the development and expansion of products and services. The CSO ensures the UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth strategic partnership achieves the goals articulated in the definitive agreement through implementation of those strategies. Works in collaboration with the regional, multistate, and UChicago Medicine leadership teams to achieve market performance and growth. The CSO provides strategic direction (partnership) across the region to senior and executive leaders grounded in business analytics, data, and predictive modeling, in partnership with the UChicago Medicine strategy and planning teams. The CSO provides monitoring and evaluation of delivery timelines and resource requirements to achieve goals within the region.
The CSO represents UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth to the external market, builds community relationships, fosters partnerships, works with business and governmental entities, as well as other health care organizations. The CSO is responsible for the operations and integration of key strategic functions for the GLR.
