      The successful candidate will work across the locality providing excellent nursing care for children and young people with a range of acute, chronic and complex nursing needs.

      We are a friendly, supportive team of registered and non registered staff providing excellent care at home, in clinics and other community bases.

      We work 8 am until 8 pm daily, including bank holidays and weekends, along with providing end of life on call and on call for the continuing care staff.

      Main duties of the job

      The Children's Community Nursing Team Leader will provide clear professional clinical leadership, governance and operational management to the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT).

      The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the Operational day to day management of the CCNT and will work in partnership with other services to maintain an integrated children's service.

      The post holder will be instrumental in leading change, and embrace the responsibility of professional leadership and advice, in both the development and coordination of children's community nursing services across a range of teams and clinical networks. They will participate and contribute to the ongoing strategic development of Children's Community nursing in response to local, regional and national directives.

      The postholder will work with children's acute & complex care providers in the community, implementing systems and processes to provide high quality standardised service delivery.

      The post holder will be responsible in providing operational leadership to all Children's Community nursing staff within the Service, support and guide staff with caseload management, mentoring and developing the workforce to meet the changing needs of the patients on the caseload.

      In addition the post holder will provide a flexible and accessible service that is responsive to the needs of the child, young people and their family.

      • Specialist Community practitioner qualification (or evidence of significant post registration experience in a community setting).
      • V300 Independent Nurse prescribing qualification or evidence of working towards / willingness to work towards

      • Substantial post registration experience at band 6.
