      The purpose of Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP) is to deliver measurable value to Rio Tinto Business Units. This is achieved through driving the establishment or improvement of competitive frameworks and markets for the purchase of goods and services enabled by e-technologies and resulting in continuous improvement, improved Supplier Safety and measurable savings. RTP provides procurement and supply chain consultancy services for Rio Tinto Group Companies and manages spend of around USD25 billion per annum.

      The RTP China Sourcing (RTP CS) team add value to Rio Tinto by providing local procurement expertise and cultural proficiency to identify and successfully execute sourcing strategies in China.

      This role will be sitting in China Sourcing team within RTP, and report directly to Senior Manager of China Sourcing. The role is to assist Senior Manager to create the ‘China Sourcing Media Window’ targeted at both internal and external stakeholders. This role will drive and maintain the performance dashboard (i.e., one tracker, supplier information, category book and LeanBoard Meeting etc.). This role is also a key influencer on assisting Senior Manager to shape the team culture, i.e., facilitating team building, culture whiteboard, TV channel and so on. Externally, the role is expected to create newsletters, seasonal China stories including supplier capability, collaboration examples via different tools (i.e., Vlog, Plog, content, interviews), in promoting positive perspectives on China Sourcing.

      The role will also manage indirect sourcing activities in China office independently such as managing tendering and contracts for office rental, corporate travel on annual basis.

      Reporting to the Senior Manager China Sourcing, you will:

      • Provide all procurement and purchasing support within China in accordance with the Rio Tinto global procurement standard.
      • Provide data analytics and reporting on all China spend and prepare monthly reports to senior management.
      • Review and Identify cost variances monthly for all China sourcing cost allocations
      • The incumbent will be responsible to market broadcast of China Sourcing, including White board, Lean Board Organization, Yammer, Element page, China Sourcing Brochure, Team Presentation and so on.
      • The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the team for developing and implementing category sourcing strategies. specifically, this includes, but not limited to below:

      - Support on prequalification procedure and commercial negotiation

      § Assist in identifying value opportunities.

      § Support with prequalification procedure

      § Support negotiation with suppliers

      § Support with resulting contract T&Cs negotiations

      - Assist with building and maintaining effective supplier relationships.

      § Support ongoing supplier development and supplier management.

      § Tracking of improvement programmes

      § Attend and monitor production process where required.

      § Follow up actions from Root Cause Analysis

      - Monitoring timely execution of delivery schedules and contracts

      § Follow up with supplier.

      § Contract / purchase order and supplier management to ensure security of supply.

      - Support Supplier Management

      § Assist on vendor creation process.

      § Support with independent verification step by the vendor maintenance team

      About you

      To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

      • University graduate majoring in Economics, Supply Chain management, business administration or a related business discipline is preferable. MBA is preferable
      • At least 3 years of experience in procurement.
      • Strong data analytical competency
      • Strong negotiation/influencing skills.
      • Strong project management skills.
      • Related experience in MNC or consultant background.
      • Excellent English capability - written and spoken.
      • Excellent Presentation skills – Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Xmind.
      • Result driven, creative, agile.
      • Experience in consultant firm or media related is preferable.
