REPORTS TO: COMMANDING OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY: Plans, develops, coordinates, monitors, and supervises all Christian Education Programs for a Corps including youth programs; recruits volunteers to serve as teachers/leaders for various programs and senses as a resource to assist them in the same; ensures all programs are in compliance with The Salvation Army mission and ensures the safety of program participants; administers the day-to-day office operations to include preparation of statistics and reports, purchasing of supplies, promotion of programs, and administration of department budget.

Coordinates, directs, and promotes all Corps Sunday School; ensures all Sunday School classes are covered by the appropriate teaching staff; recruits substitutes teachers as needed; orders and distributes Sunday School supplies to teachers ensuring all teachers have materials needed. Plans, develops, and monitors curriculum content of classes, giving specific as well as general guidance to each Sunday School teacher. Serves as a constant source of fresh ideas for Sunday School teachers in all matters of classroom procedures including units of study, schedules, educational materials, needed resources, and craft ideas. Maintains awareness of new materials in the area of Christian Education; purchases books or magazines that might be helpful to the development of the Christian Education Curriculum Library. Ensures that special lesson plans are made by each Sunday School teacher and that the plans are followed. Ensures the safety and protection of all children participating in youth programs; contacts the appropriate personnel, parents, or emergency services as needed; reports all accidents to the supervisor; contacts parents with any discipline problems occur with children participating in programs. Consolidates craft and art supply requests from Sunday School teachers; prepares and submits purchase requests for the same. Develops, promotes, and leads new seniors ministry; conducts monthly seniors meeting; cultivates senior memberships, attendance and participation; works with the LOM Secretary in planning and carrying out the LOM Program. Serves as Assistant Corps Cadet Counselor; assists in planning of corps Cadet meetings, special events, etc. Coordinates transportation arrangements for all Corps programs and provides transportation as needed. Coordinates seasonal youth activities to include Vacation Bible School, Spring Youth Revival, Youth Councils, and Camping Programs. Plans and coordinates arrangements for youth to attend Divisional events. Plans and coordinates arrangements for Divisional and Territorial Camps including scheduling of youth physicals; completes all paperwork for camps and organizes transportation. Plans and coordinates monthly social activities for teens and young adults age groups. Plans, coordinates, and implements fund-raising functions for various groups. Plans and organizes Youth Program musical programs including the Nashville Christian Academy of the Arts and Support to Corps Singing Company. Plans, organizes, and leads quarterly teachers meetings; coordinates arrangements for annual teacher training seminars. Prepares and maintains statistical records on all Corps program activities and attendance; com pi1es and prepares monthly statistical reports; prepares monthly youth reports and submits same to Divisional Headquarters; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same. Assists in preparing the Christian Education budget; monitors expenditures to en sures compliance to budget limitations. Prepares and maintains accurate records, lists, logs, and reports regarding the Christian Education Programs; prepares and maintains the Youth Roll Book on a regular basis for annual reviews Types and distributes correspondence for various groups; develops and mails informational flyers to promote various Co1ps activities; sends reminders and remembrances to members of Corps programs. Attends Advisory Board/Corps Council/YP/Senior Census Board meetings regularly and maintains preparedness to report current status of all Christian Education Programs.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with established Youth Program Girl Guards, Sunbeams, Junior Soldiers, and Adventure Corps. Assists in performing office duties. Serves as member of the camp staff throughout the summer. Performs other related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field, and One year experience developing a leading Christian education programs for The Salvation Army, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Valid State Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and ministry. Knowledge of the Bible, doctrine and theology. Knowledge of principles and practices ofChristianeducation,childdevelopmentand family relations. Knowledge of effective teaching skills and practices for youth programs. Knowledge of a wide variety of creative resources and practices which facilitate the modern development and promotion of Christian education programs. Ability to recruit, lead, and motivate volunteers to teach Christian education classes/programs. Ability to serve as a resource for the development of Christian education programs. Ability to establish and nurture relationship with adults and children of all ages and their families. Ability to plan, organize, and promote Christian education group functions. Ability to administer programs within established budget constraints.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, Dictaphone, typewriter, computer, and adding machine. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work may involve driving a vehicle on occasion to transport passengers to and from Corps programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed in a normal office or Corps environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work may require driving a vehicle on occasion with exposure to outdoor temperatures and heavy traffic.
