      THIS IS AN INTERNAL OPPORTUNITY FOR CURRENT CITY OF SCOTTSDALE EMPLOYEES ONLY.

      About the Position:
      Acts as the staff contact for citizens through a strategic approach of civic engagement, issue management and neighborhood advocacy.Education and Experience
      • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Planning, Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
      • Four years of responsible project coordination experience involving multiple disciplines and functions.
      • An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
      Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
      • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
      Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/department/services assignment.

      • Investigates citizen complaints, forwards information to the appropriate City division and follows up to ensure resolution.
      • Works with citizens to gather accurate information and search for possible solutions to their concerns.
      • Facilitates meetings with the public and City staff around difficult or controversial topics or issues.
      • Provides guidance and assistance to neighborhoods and associations on a variety of topics and in the development of Neighborhood Plans.
      • Analyzes issues, concerns and recommends innovative solutions.

      • Work is performed in a City office environment, with occasional meetings outside the office environment.
      • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
      • Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
      • Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
      • Attend evening and weekend Commission, Council, and Community meetings as required.

      PLEASE NOTE: Years of experience are based on a work schedule of 2,080 hours per year for full-time positions and 1,040 hours per year for part-time positions, and while work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, depending upon the job classification, education may not be substituted for work experience.
