      This can be a challenging job but brings with it the rewards of making a real difference to the local community.

      By enforcing the counties parking restrictions, you will be helping us to reduce congestion, improve safety on our roads making sure that residents and visitors are able to find somewhere to park.

      In addition to this, our community work adds a nice mix of alternative patrol work. It may be checking abandoned vehicles or issuing fixed penalty notices for dogs on beaches.

      About You

      This role will bring you into daily contact with members of the public who may ask you about a wide range of parking questions alongside a variety of community-based enquiries. Your commitment to providing great customer service and excellent customer relations skills is essential.

      You will be a part of a very supportive team; however, the role does involve patrolling by yourself so you must be resilient and comfortable working on your own. The role involves covering a number of miles on foot each day so you will also need to have a good level of fitness.

      Training

      The parking enforcement team will deliver an excellent induction to the role providing you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become a fully trained civil parking enforcement officer with a City and Guilds certification.

      Alongside this we offer short and long-term training programmes for officers to progress both within the team and the wider community and public protection service.

      Hours of Work

      The parking enforcement team are operational Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm. Officers work 5 days a week (7.4hours shifts) on a rolling shift pattern and therefore you will need to have the flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and evenings. The team also provides opportunities to work outside of core hours to achieve a good work life balance.

      • Falmouth
      • St Austell

      You will be required to hold a full clean driving license.

      A basis IT knowledge will be advantageous.
