Job Description

- You will develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced civil engineering software.
- You will support Asset Management for proper scope and budgeting during 1391 project development process.
- You will make site investigation field trips to project sites, as required, to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with sponsoring activity.
- You will coordinate with other engineers and architects, including Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects, to ensure that final detailed working drawings, specifications, and RFPs are properly integrated with the building systems.
- You will perform Quality Assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms.
- You will perform technical administration of designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying theories, concepts, principles and practices in engineering/architecture for complex multiple engineering areas of consultation, design and construction; 2) Using computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, electronic e-mail, internet, and database software; 3) Applying technical knowledge in administering contract, responding to correspondence, evaluating design, and administrative submittals, preparing government report and brief, conducting key meetings, monitoring quality assurance, and safety compliance with plans and specifications; 4) Reviewing and approving all contract technical submittals (e.g. design drawings, product selection, environmental protection plans, schedules and/or quality control plans); 5) Monitoring construction contractor quality and safety programs by conducting site visits; 6) Reviewing pre-final contract drawing and specifications.
