  The Opportunity:
  Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil PE with strong technical design experience and deep knowledge of the New York market. This role focuses on a wide range of site/civil infrastructure projects, including site development, utilities, grading, stormwater management, and horizontal design. Flexibility to work remotely when traveling is available, but candidates must be local experts.

  Your Role:
  • Lead and support site/civil design for land development and public infrastructure projects, including grading, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and site layout

  • Produce and review construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for horizontal alignments, site design, surface modeling, and plan production

  • Support stormwater modeling and permitting efforts in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements

  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines for fully integrated design packages

  • Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and provide QA/QC on project deliverables

  • Participate in client meetings and maintain positive working relationships with municipal and private-sector clients
  Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York (or ability to obtain through reciprocity)

  • 8–10 years of experience in civil/site design (urban infill, commercial, institutional, or municipal)

  • Proficient in Civil 3D (surface creation, alignments, profiles, grading, and utility design)

  • Working knowledge of stormwater modeling tools (e.g., HydroCAD, ICPR, PCSWMM, or similar)

  • Familiarity with site permitting processes and NY design codes

  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills

  • Must be currently based in or deeply familiar with the New York market
  NY Salary: $80,000 - $166,000 dependent on experience.
