      Overview

      Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer withtwo (2) years of experience as a Licensed Engineer, Structural Engineer, Project Engineer or related role where required experience gained to join our Structures team!

      Responsibilities

      • Development of full sets of structural construction documents, technical specifications and supporting calculation packages with a focus in building structures.
      • Lead meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders during the design phase of projects.
      • Provide construction assistance during the construction phase for building projects.
      • Conducting site visits and special inspections for general conformance to contract documents.
      • Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) with design tasks and the preparation of project document submittal packages.
      • Maintain a quality assurance program for the preparation of construction documents and supporting structural calculations.
      • This position requires 10% domestic travel.
      • Remote work from home acceptable as projects permit within reasonable commuting distance of the Coral Gables, FL office.

      Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering or closely related field with seismic coursework and two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Engineer, Structural Engineer, Project Engineer or related role where required experience gained.
      • Also requires experience in the following:

        • Professional Engineering license;

        • Two (2) years of utilizing the following technical software programs ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Enercalc, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam to develop structural plans and technical specifications;

        • Two (2) years of performing site visits as the threshold inspector representative, structural design calculations, preparing project document submittal packages, and maintaining Quality Control for the entire project;

        • Two (2) years of developing structural plans, details, and technical specifications;

        • Two (2) years of conducting and documenting site investigations and structural evaluations to prepare technical reports; and

        • Two (2) years of knowledge of local and national building codes, including Florida Building Code.
