Bilingual (read, write, and speak) in any language in addition to English is a plus, but not required.
Education Requirement: Graduate from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of law enforcement experience, criminal justice, investigation, inspection or customer service.
Education and Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certification Requirement: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. By position obtain a Special Commission Certification from the Executive Director of Safety after undergoing background check for this purpose to issue traffic citations in the City & County of Denver in accordance with the City Charter and the DRMC. Failure to obtain and maintain certification will result in withdrawal of position offer or termination. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

The Denver Police Department has several openings for Civilian Report Technicians.
Job responsibilities will include:
The Denver Police Department is currently seeking Civilian Report Technicians (CRTs) to perform a variety of functions such as responding to traffic crash calls for service, investigating crashes, writing reports, interviewing victims/witnesses, conducting neighborhood surveys, collecting evidence, testifying in court, etc.
This is NOT an ARMED position; however, the ability to mitigate conflict and make sound judgment calls is absolutely REQUIRED.
The successful applicant will be great at communicating with the public and all levels of leadership. They will also be comfortable as a civilian employee embedded in a sworn police arena. Additionally, they will be flexible, resourceful, comfortable in fast-paced environments, with strong writing and computer skills.
DPD is seeking detail oriented, investigative minded individuals who are comfortable with the activities of law enforcement. Sensitivity to strict confidentiality and personal privacy is imperative to be successful. A willingness to serve a diverse community is key.
*While the salary range for this position classification is $19.25/hr. - $28.11/hr., the expected starting salary for this position is $25/hour*
We are hiring for part time employees only. The base hours for the part time positions are 25 hours per week. The shifts will primarily be Monday through Friday, covering the morning and evening rush hours. Regular court appearances will be required.About You
