What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in the administration of workers’ compensation claims through clerical and data entry tasks
- Prepare benefit notices, schedule, and process payments on claim files as directed by the Claims Examiner
- Document all work product and claim activity in the electronic claim file
- Communicate pertinent claim information to clients, legal counsel, medical providers, and internal staff
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and perform receptionist duties on a backup basis
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) months’ experience in the workers’ compensation claims industry
- Proficient keyboarding skills (minimum typing speed of 45 wpm)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written and spoken instructions and prioritize multiple projects
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Working knowledge of medical/legal terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Experience in a fast-paced office environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
