What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Set up new claims in the system, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Prepare, schedule, and process payment vouchers on claim files as directed by the Claims Examiner or Supervisor
- Document all work product and claim activity in the electronic claim file
- Provide clerical support, including accounting, filing, faxing, sorting, and photocopying
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to requests for assistance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in the commercial casualty claims industry
- Proficient keyboarding skills (typing speed of 45 wpm)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical/legal terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with claims processing systems and terminology
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience in a customer service role
- Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
