Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Claims Assistant in our Insurance Claims team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting the senior staff in review of claim files, including but not limited to coverage analysis, setting up of initial notices, entry of financials into ClaimCenter, Triage of incoming electronic mail
• Ability to establish priorities, anticipate problems, know and communicate the status of assignments to involved parties
• Use time effectively to meet deadlines/commitment
• Provide a consistent & high quality level of claims service to our internal / external clients.
• Ability to complete tasks associated with claim analysis in timely and accurate manner.
• Work effectively with Claims Analyst and file handler to ensure that data in ClaimCenter and ImageRight is consistent.
• Ensure there are no backlogs in processing reserves or payment transactions.

What you’ll bring:

• Prior claims experience in a claims support role is required
• Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage forms and basic coverage analysis is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential; Sense of urgency required.
• Computer skill including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong problem solving and decision making abilities; Strong work ethic & energetic
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to assist on special project is essential
• Must be self-motivated, analytical, inquisitive, and should be organized with attention paid to detail.

Salary Range: $45,000 – $65,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
