      As a Claims Specialist (Inj ury Management) within the Qantas Workers’ Compensation team you will provide specialist claims and allied health advice to the Qantas Group. Assessing all technical considerations of compensation payments, treatment approvals and liability determinations and providing high quality advice to the claims team to ensure consistency of approach on factors which impact claims and injury management. You will assist the team in applying sound risk management principles to ensure compliance and robust decision making. You will be a key point of contact for claims officers and relevant stakeholders regarding assessment of claims and claim decisions. You will have ability to provide appropriate claim and rehabilitation advice and recommendations within the appropriate legislation and guidelines. You will be implementing and monitoring appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, attendant care and vocational needs. You will be working closely with claims officers to assess areas of improvement regarding treatment management in accordance with relevant clinical framework.

      You’ll have:

      • Experience in collaborative peer to peer communications with treatment providers
      • Allied Health background and qualifications in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counselling, exercise physiology or other relevant health disciplines.
      • Ideally 3+ years of claims team experience in workers compensation.
      • Ability to implement processes and procedures of injury management programs and facilitate the training of staff.
      • Ability to identify suitable duties, consistent with the Workers Compensation Act in the relevant jurisdiction
      • Ability to develop a graded return-to-work plan and disseminate information to all relevant parties
      • Demonstrated case and case load management skills
      • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
      • Excellent written, verbal communication and administrative skills
      • Ability to handle documents and situations of a confidential nature
      • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
