Job Description

- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Five years of experience as a journeyman electrician or commercial experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 55 pounds to should height occasionally
- Ability to push / pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently
- Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities;
- Effective communication skills and team oriented;
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical apparatus, wiring, panels and disconnects, and similar electric elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district.
- Recommend electrical repairs to be performed by outside contractors
- Performs all electrical repair work in accordance with county and municipal code.
- Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintains the inventory of district-owed tools, equipment, electrical supplies, and light bulbs.
- Complete repair orders in a timely fashion per industry standards.
- Estimate costs of electrical repair projects in terms of labor and material.
- Examine electrical equipment in district owned or operated facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and safety.
- Plan, install, and complete electrical systems for special projects as needed.
- Work overtime as directed.
- Attend meetings as directed.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month employment (261 days). Salary to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to the Classified Agreement.
