Being a Classroom Aide has its Advantages
As a Classroom Aide at Devereux, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer:
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Mount Kisco, NY, this position is responsible for the supervision and support of an assigned student in the education program. They will supervise one student across the entire school day in all instructional and leisure activities while the student is present in the school building. They will provide assistance for their assigned student in completing activities of daily living, including toileting, menstrual care (for females), and other self care activities if appropriate for that student. The 1:1 Aide will facilitate student's participation in small group or individual learning activities. They will provide prompting for completion of new skills and practice on maintained or generalized skills. They will also implement behavior support plans as appropriate for their assigned student.
Location: NY CARES, Mount Kisco
Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)
With HS Diploma/GED - $19.80 - $21.18 per hour
With BA/BS - $20.80 - $22.25 per hour
With MA/MS or higher - $21.80 - $23.32 per hour

Qualifications
To qualify, we require our One to One Aides to:
Physical Requirements: Pre-employment physical required. Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending & standing required. Frequent planned, outside activities causing exposure to sunlight and heat. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. Good manual dexterity.
