      Job Description

      Job Summary:

      Performs a variety of functions including fabrication, assembly or testing in the production of electrical, mechanical, or other components/devices manufactured or assembled in a clean-room environment. Operates appropriate equipment in performing the functions. Assists in setting up work stations and follows written or verbal process specifications in completing all assignments.

      Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Prepare small optical components for subsequent assembly, including dicing, inspection, die sort, and cleaning
      • Perform manual assembly steps at a cleanroom workstation to build optical subsystems with precision and care to ensure quality
      • Operate computer-based dicing, assembly, test, and inspection equipment to meet production and quality goals
      • Maintain a clean work area, including safe handling of hazardous chemicals (solvents, acids, etc.), removing trash, and minimizing dust and surface contaminants
      • Collaborate with engineers and support development efforts by processing materials as instructed, assist in setting up workstations, and following written or verbal process specification
      • Perform other duties as required

      Job Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • 1-2 years of related experience
      • Computer experience, especially with Windows and MS Office products (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
      • Effective time-management, organizational, and communication skills
      • Comfortable working from a standing position for 3-5 hours per shift or siting for 4-8 hours daily
      • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40lbs
      • Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand basic math concepts.
      • Ability to work 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday, with occasional weekday or infrequent weekend overtime as required
      • Ability to work in a clean room environment, which requires special protective-outer garments (provided by the company) to maintain cleanliness in the workspace. Area will be temperature controlled (average temperature 70-degrees F).
