Job Description

- Reports directly to the Director of Formation & Evangelization.
- Contributes to providing quality service, administrative support and related organizational needs of various ministries and programs within the Formation Department.
- Maintains databases, records and certification of those parishioners participating in various classes and/or sacramental preparation.
- Handle general clerical duties including but not limited to copying, filing and data entry for our department as well as various ministries as needed.
- Tracks departmental spending by maintaining records. Responsible for payments to various vendors, collection of fees for various ministries or activities that generate collection and deposit monies into appropriate account.
- Promotes unified, team-oriented atmosphere in all communications and action with various volunteers, team members and staff.
- Provide communication either by brochure, bulletin, or webpage announcements to make parishioners aware of upcoming activities within our department.
- Assist with yearly catechesis registration (Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation)
- Create and maintain student rosters and attendance records.
- Input and maintain data for Sacramental Preparation programs
- Maintains all current records on youth participating in Formation programs including Safe Environment
- Answer emails and phone calls concerning general questions about the department.
- Coordinate and schedule Baptisms
- Assists the Director of Faith Formation in the development of the Religious Education program
- Assists the Director in the development and catechesis of parents in their role as the child’s first teacher of faith
- Establishes and maintains a collaborative relationship with parishioners, including parents and families.
- Assists the Director in the selection and purchase of catechetical materials for the parish for Religious Education and Sacramental Prep.
- Schedules dates and facilities for RE, Sac. Prep and Virtus programs
- Sacramental records are obtained and upon completion of the Sacrament, notification is submitted to the church of Baptism

- Work at a desk/computer and have the ability to lift a certain poundage
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability of effectively articulate the Saint Andrew mission and message.
- Demonstrate strong, creative, strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook or ability to learn them independently.
Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Director of Faith Formation. This position requires a self-starter who works well with others and can handle interruptions throughout the workday. This position requires a personality that has positive energy, is friendly and engaging. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to multitask.

Assists and supports the Director of Faith Formation with administrative and related organizational needs of the programs processes and activities within the department and within the focus of the Liturgical year.

Ability to work with interruptions, tact, and good interpersonal skills dealing with volunteers, parishioners, program participants and Pastoral Staff.
