      Receive, maintain, and disburse inventory. Operate material handling equipment including loading and unloading material and bulk commodities.

      Storekeeper –

      • Take an active and leading role in the ongoing development of safety initiatives including housekeeping.
      • Competent use of computer systems; communicates with internal and external customers and suppliers; prepare and maintain correspondence and reports; and responsible for adhering to the CSX Information Management Policy and CSX Information Users Policy as it relates to CSX data and information.
      • Check, count, order, expedite, receive, store, retrieve, issue, ship, and deliver material.

      Responsibilities

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
      • Receive, store, stock, maintain and distribute inventory
      • Operate material handling equipment and forklift
      • Complete various rail office duties including manual and electronic data processing
      • Other duties as assigned by proper authority

      Pay

      Entry Daily Rate $259.00

      Maximum Full Daily Rate $304.70 (after new hire completes 36 months of actual service)

      *Daily rate is an 8-hour work day. The daily rate will increase after new hire completes 12 months of active service and continue to increase each 12 months of service until the full daily rate is achieved.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • High School Diploma/GED
      • 18 years of age or older
      • Valid Driver's License
      • Type 25 average net words per minute
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Oracle applications experience
      • Forklift operation experience

      Basic Competencies

      • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications--both general and technical)
      • Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
      • Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
      • Basic Math

      Physical Requirements

      • working safely in the office environment;
      • safely operating forklifts and other mechanized equipment;
      • participating in stretching exercises as recommended;
      • demonstrating safe body mechanics when lifting and lowering materials;
      • effectively reaching for materials at varying work heights;
      • ascending/descending ladders/stairs using three points of contact;
      • safely lifting up to 120 lbs. with assistance; safely lifting up to 60 lbs. without assistance;
      • safely operating hand carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks;
      • Safely standing and walking on varying work surfaces.
      • Other duties as may be assigned.

      Transfer physical required.

      • Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses
      • Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
      • Complete annual safety testing requirements
      • Must pass all required assessments
      • Must pass a background screening
      • This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, membership is required

      Environmental Conditions

      Work in a warehouse environment.
