      Are you passionate about being detail-oriented in every task you complete? If so, join our team as a Clerk Typist 2 and play a crucial role in our Planning and Development department! You as the incumbent will have the experience, knowledge and capability to assist in day-to-day clerical work while additionally supporting the team with special projects.

      The incumbent will perform duties including, but not limited to:

      • Engaging in diverse word processing and clerical tasks with clear methods and procedures

      • Exercising independent action and discretion on various problems

      • Reviewing work for accuracy and adherence to established practices

      • Providing detailed oral and written instructions on initial assignments

      • Performs related work as required.

      Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by planning-related technical courses and standard commercial subjects. As well as having some experience as a Clerk Typist 1; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will bring considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic. You will have ability to keyboard and to operate various software applications to process a variety of documents and to prepare and maintain related records and files. You will also have the skill in keyboarding rapidly and accurately.

      Pay Rate: $27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)

      Location: City Hall

      Hours of Work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and scheduled on an as needed basis. Our current required operational schedule for this opportunity is 70 hours bi-weekly, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
