      Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking a dynamic Client Development Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the execution of the firm’s portfolio of events, charitable contributions and sponsorships, client entertainment and gifting programs, regional prospect targeting, and additional strategic marketing efforts with a focus on the Dallas market and support for other Texas markets as needed. This role reports directly to the Manager, Client Development - Texas and will work with active and prospective clients, as well as office leadership. This is a full-time, hybrid, exempt position with excellent benefits.

      A successful Client Development Coordinator should be a self-starter with a can-do attitude. They should convey confidence, display a strong executive presence, operate with a high degree of confidentiality, be skilled in relationship building, and show dedication to providing superior service and value to both our clients and our lawyers. A thoughtful, experienced manner in dealing with fellow professionals is required.

      Essential duties and responsibilities

      • Support implementation of strategic marketing efforts for the Dallas & Texas offices, including business development initiatives, sponsorships and events, and lateral attorney integration.
      • Manage client appreciation/business development events including client CLEs/seminars, industry/conference sponsorships and various sporting, arts, and theater events.
      • Support preparation for internal meetings with Partners in Charge, Partners, and Client Development Committee(s).
      • Manage online content including lawyer biographies, event listings and intranet posts, including coordination with the Communications team for social media and PR/media-related requests.
      • Support lateral attorney integration in conjunction with the Director of Partner Integration & Coaching by serving as regional Client Development liaison with counterparts across the Firm. This includes coordinating local office visits, scheduling regular check-in meetings, tracking progress of business development and marketing activities, as well as, basic onboarding tasks such as scheduling Firm photo shoot and drafting attorney biographies.
      • Coordinate the drafting and editing of select business development materials, including presentations, electronic updates and newsletters, track outcomes and update records of same.
      • In connection with the firm’s Business Intelligence team, assist with conducting research and compiling information for business intelligence reports (company information, executive profiles, industry trends, and competitor information).
      • Coordinate and track all client entertainment efforts and activities, including processing check requests, expense reimbursements, and monitoring the budget.
      • Create and maintain marketing/event mailings and lists in CRM database, InterAction, and coordinate mailings in Vuture.
      • Ensure proper communication with local lawyers, Client Development colleagues, and other internal departments to ensure firmwide information flow.
      • Other special projects as assigned by Client Development Managers, Directors and Chief Client Officer.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree required.
      • Minimum 2 years of professional services marketing experience, preferably within an AmLaw Top 200 law firm.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) and CRM software (InterAction preferred); working knowledge of Vuture, Foundation, PitchPerfect, and Sitecore a plus.
      • Candidate should be comfortable using Web-based software and research tools, experience with Pitchbook, Capital IQ, Monitor Suite, Hoover’s, and others a plus.
      • Must always demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and professional demeanor.
      • Must be highly organized, meticulously-detail oriented and responsive while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
      • Must demonstrate a proven ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
      • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple assignments, and work responsibly under pressure.
      • Must be a highly resourceful team-player, and polite and respectful of others.
      • Must always speak and act professionally and maintain a professional appearance.

      Extent of Public Contact (Within and outside the Firm)

      This position requires contact with individuals within the firm as follows:

      • a high degree of contact within the Client Development department
      • a moderate to high degree of interaction with firm lawyers
      • a moderate degree of contact in collaboration with other staff departments within the firm (recruiting, professional development, practice management, etc.)

      This position requires contact with individuals outside the firm as follows:

      • a moderate degree of contact with vendors/suppliers/industry organizations/conference providers and others in the event planning arena for special events and client appreciation/business development events.
      • a moderate degree of contact with firm clients and prospective clients in connection with firm events and initiatives

      Physical Demands

      • Must be able to routinely lift and carry event materials and other items up to 10 pounds.
      • Must be able to work at a computer for extensive periods of time.
      • Position requires extensive telephone and videoconference use.
      • Must be able to lift, squat, kneel and bend.
      • Position requires the ability to visit face-to-face and on the phone with firm lawyers.

      Working Condition and Environment

      • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.
      • Position is full-time and requires a five-day work week and standard hours as outlined in the Firm policy manual. Additional hours, including weekend and evening hours may be required to perform the essential functions of the job.
      • Travel to other non-resident office(s) to assist with client appreciation/business development events on an as-needed basis, including on weekends.
      • Must be able to perform essential duties of the position with time constraints and frequent interruptions.
      • Ability to work well in high pressure environments.
      • Must be able to make site visits for event planning purposes.
      • This role may be hybrid and will require a minimum of three days per week (or at least 60%) present in the office, and up to two days per week (40%) may be performed remotely.
