      Req#: JR100745

      Closing date: February 1, 2024

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking a Client Reporting co-op student/intern for the Summer and/or Fall 2024 work term (May to August or December).

      WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

BCI manages a globally diversified portfolio of assets valued at $233 billion and is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. We invest globally to support pension and other funds for more than 30 clients based in British Columbia. We are proud to have been chosen as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and BC’s Top Employers . These national and provincial competitions recognize employers who offer exceptional workplaces for their employees.

The Client Reporting co-op student/intern will work within our Corporate and Investor Relations department. This is a great opportunity for you to learn and apply your knowledge to support ongoing improvements to our quarterly investment report and the implementation of new data-based projects to improve our service to clients.

      WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department is the corporate face and voice to BCI's internal and external audiences. CIR functions as the primary interface with our clients and strives to represent their specific interests and unique needs internally. CIR works closely with governing fiduciaries and trustees and, working with our BCI colleagues, assists clients with developing their investment strategies, policies, and objectives. Within CIR, Client Partnerships acts as the bridge between BCI and our clients — advocating for and representing their interests. They lead the business relationship with clients and live BCI's value of Clients First by fostering a client-centric culture.

The Client Reporting Team within Client Partnerships was established in November 2020 to take an enterprise view on client reporting. The team is focused on aligning BCI's reporting directly to clients' needs, strengthening BCI's value proposition, and supporting organizational efficiencies in the reporting process. Some of the department's key activities include: overall coordination of BCI's client reporting; production of automated reporting elements; content coordination and reviews; and reporting data management and ensuring our new client reporting systems are running.

      • Prepare presentations and communications as needed, with a focus on ease of understanding.

      • Support and collaborate with other CIR teams (i.e., Client Relations, Client Experience and Stakeholder Engagement) and with other internal departments (i.e., Asset Classes, ISR, and Finance) to enable efficient production and sharing of high-quality reporting content for client audiences.

      • Respond to ad-hoc requests from clients or relationship managers about reporting details, processes, or data.
