POSITION FUNCTION
Monitor the provision of event services and supplies for Victoria Conference Centre clients.
KEY DUTIES
Review upcoming event orders and facilitate the delivery of agreed upon services; arrange and participate in room set-up; liaise with food, beverage, and event service suppliers to monitor provision of services.
First point of contact for clients during events to facilitate special needs or changes to agreed upon services; forward last-minute changes to suppliers; maintain records such as additional services provided, or problems encountered on Event Management Business System.
Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with all building, fire, and safety regulations; ensure event activities conform to event schedule specified in the VCC License Agreement.
Respond to and facilitate event deliveries. Operate various equipment such as forklift and pallet jack, scissor lift, walkie stacker.
Perform related duties where qualified.
INDEPENDENCE
Work is assigned according to event orders and is reviewed by supervisor.
May be required to problem solve and make quick decisions.
Issues such as disputes regarding VCC License Agreements are referred to supervisor.

Lift and move medium weight materials and equipment. (frequent)

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Organize and prioritize work.
Understand and apply the techniques of quality customer service.
Working knowledge of Event Business Management System.
Maintain accurate records.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Deal effectively with the public and outside agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:
High school graduation.
Forklift Operators Certificate.
Experience:
1 year of related experience in the hospitality industry with a strong customer service background or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER:
May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
