What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation for all payor groups and DRGs
- Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with healthcare professionals and coding staff
- Support timely, accurate, and complete documentation of clinical information for measuring and reporting outcomes
- Educate the patient care team on an ongoing basis
- Maintain regular electronic contacts with personnel throughout and outside the hospital
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute setting, preferably a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Proficiency in EPIC EHR and Clintegrity CDE software
- CDI subject matter expert for all payors and DRG groups
- Knowledge/experience in PSI/HAC/HCC (Risk adjustment coding)
- Registered Nurse with a BSN or higher preferred
- CCDS or CDIP certification
- Coding certification: CCS or CRC

- Experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Additional certifications related to clinical documentation improvement
