Job Description

- Assesses County primary health service needs and participates in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of services and programs to meet such needs; in cooperation with other division directors coordinates integrated services among all divisions.
- Acts as the chief advisor to the Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director, Program, concerning primary health issues and programs.
- Assists in establishing Health Service Agency goals, policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; evaluates new laws and their potential impact on the County.
- Coordinates the development and monitors the progress of the Clinic Division strategic plan.
- Establishes standards and secures Medical Director approval for all nursing procedures and protocols.
- Supervises, advises, consults with and evaluates the work of nursing, program and administrative support staff to ensure effective division operations and quality client services and care. Ensures and participates in the provision of adequate staff training.
Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and graduation from college with a Bachelor’s degree in health or business administration. A Master’s degree in healthcare or business administration is highly desirable.
Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative/management experience in a health care setting, preferably in a group practice or clinic. Rural Health Clinic experience is desirable.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Requires a valid California driver’s license.

The candidate should have knowledge of coordinating public relations efforts, developing funding resources and managing the division budget. Additionally, it is critical that the candidate possess the ability to exercise independent judgement for directing the treatment provided to clients; according to ethical and legal standards.
