- Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic techniques and radiation safety standards.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment proficiently and safely.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) as required by state regulations.
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital radiology department.
- Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
- Continuing education in advanced imaging modalities or patient care.
- Identifies patient and verifies pregnancy status, medical history, complaint and explains x-ray procedure.
- Prepares patients for x-rays, performs, develops, and displays radiology exams.
- Acts as a liaison between the patient and the doctor regarding radiology procedures.
- Carries out physician’s orders.
- Orders all supplies related to clinic radiology department.
- Assists with front office procedures (answering phones, giving referrals, scheduling, end of month, etc.) when needed.
- Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
- Responsible for entering patient radiology orders into Meditech.
- Responsible for gathering patient information and films to send to radiologist for reading.
- Responsible for final report presented to physician for review.
- Prepares and files patient films in clinic radiology file room.
- Verifies that films are returned to clinic after reporting is complete.
- Maintains professional and courteous behavior to patients, visitors, and customers.
- Maintains education updates and mandatory hospital training programs.
- Uses the AIDET principles with each patient encounter.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the requirements of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
