What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct post-discharge, final coded, pre-bill reviews of targeted medical records for accuracy and compliance
- Document findings and coordinate with physicians and coding leadership for necessary follow-ups
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) team members
- Engage in quality initiatives and participate in targeted audits to support departmental goals
- Collaborate with CDI leadership to optimize query templates and facilitate educational sessions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience as a concurrent reviewer
- Required educational qualifications: Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Doctorate Degree in Medicine
- Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology from clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with providers
- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) certification required upon hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification for Clinical Documentation Improvement (CCDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) preferred
- Experience in quality and process improvement initiatives within healthcare settings
- Familiarity with age-specific patient needs and disease processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance workflow and documentation practices
- Previous experience in a virtual work environment
