What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform post-discharge, final coded, pre-bill reviews of targeted medical records for accuracy
- Document findings within the CDI application and coordinate physician queries as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert and role model for CDI team members
- Conduct concurrent second-level reviews and provide feedback for improvement
- Collaborate with CDI leadership to optimize query templates and identify workflow improvement opportunities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of CDI experience as a concurrent reviewer
- Education: Diploma in Nursing or Health Information Management, Associate's, Bachelor's, or Doctorate Degree in related fields
- Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify undocumented clinical indicators
- Certification for Clinical Documentation Improvement (CCDS or CDIP) required upon hire
