What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Implement and maintain the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) quality and compliance plan
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of health record documentation
- Provide training and support for Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS)
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate proper documentation and coding
- Monitor CDI performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology, Healthcare-related field, or Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or equivalent medical licensure
- Minimum of three years of experience in hospital clinical documentation integrity
- Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines, and DRG reimbursement
- Demonstrated expertise with 3M CDI Software and analytical skills for problem resolution
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP)
- Working knowledge of Epic EMR
- Experience with Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC) and quality indicator codes
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and departments
- Personal presence characterized by integrity and the ability to inspire others
