What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review inpatient admissions to identify missing or incomplete documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive health record documentation
- Utilize clinical documentation system to conduct reviews and identify opportunities for clarification
- Apply inpatient coding guidelines and requirements to assign working MS-DRG
- Communicate with providers to clarify unclear or conflicting documentation

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Technician (RHIT), or associate degree in a health care related discipline with Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification, and a minimum of 3 years medical coding experience
- Registered nurse (or medical school graduate) with a minimum of 3 years inpatient clinical experience, advanced clinical expertise, and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes in an inpatient setting
- Current RN license or RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification
- Must acquire CCDS or CDIP certification within 3 years of hire
- Excellent observation skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CCDS or CDIP Certification
- One year CDI experience
