- Assist with the oversight and operation of the cardiac exercise stress lab.
- Assist the cardiology fellow to obtain a pertinent medical history.
- Relate pertinent information to the physician, prep, and monitor patients undergoing stress testing.
- Provide all aspects of patient care related to stress testing, including patient transport when needed
- Assist in training cardiology fellows and technicians in stress testing protocols, AHA/ACSM. Guidelines for exercise testing and prescriptions, and exercise physiology.
- Assist cardiology fellows to develop clinical trials and monitors/evaluate the progress.
- Coordinate and actively participate in clinical research
- Update stress testing policies and procedures manual according to HIPAA regulations and a safe working environment.
- Report any hazardous condition and malfunction of equipment immediately to SMIC or FM&D and notify the supervisor/administrator.
- Maintain daily patient logs and generate accurate statistical-reports.
- Maintain inventory and clinical supplies for the cardiac exercise stress laboratory.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a physician and clinical coordinator/manager.

Job Summary:
The Department of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical EKG Technician. The successful candidate will:
Required Qualifications:
Certification in EKG Technician, Nurse Technician, Nurse's assistant, or Physician Aide from an accredited training program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Exercise Test Technologist or Exercise Specialist.
