      Job summary

      This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in a well-established urogynaecology and pelvic floor unit within a large teaching hospital. The successful candidate will be involved in the outpatient and surgical management of women with pelvic floor disorders, working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes consultants, nurse specialists, and physiotherapists.

      The post is well-suited to a doctor who has completed core training in obstetrics and gynaecology and is looking to develop further skills in this sub-specialty. There are also opportunities to contribute to audit, research and clinical governance activities

      Main duties of the job

      This role offers hands-on clinical and surgical experience within a busy, BSUG-accredited tertiary urogynaecology unit. The successful candidate will participate in outpatient clinics, theatre lists, urodynamics sessions, MDTs, and surgical planning meetings.

      They will manage patients with complex pelvic floor disorders, recurrent prolapse, incontinence, and urogenital pain, working alongside consultants, nurse specialists, physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team. Strong communication, surgical aptitude, and a commitment to collaborative, compassionate care are essential. The role supports audit, data submission to national registries, and opportunities for involvement in ongoing research and postgraduate teaching.
