Clinical Lab Assistant - Full time - Evening shift
2:30pm-11:00pm
Every other weekendSummary – Performs laboratory procedures in all designated areas of responsibility including recording, performance and reporting of tests and evaluations. Ensures the quality of specimens and testing materials in order to produce a quality, timely result that will benefit the patient. Performs complex clerical and processing functions involving independent judgment associated with the timely, accurate, reproducible reporting of results. Performs diagnostic testing on clinical specimens with little direct supervision following SOP in order to provide preliminary assessment to the clinician about the presence and severity of infection. Performs appropriate quality control to insure that reported results are accurate and reproducible, and prepares quality assurance reports to assist Lab Supervisors in monitoring the results reported.
Education – High school education or the equivalent required. Associate degree in a health-related field is preferred.
Experience – Previous laboratory experience with a minimum of two years in a related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification – N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to understand and follow specific clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures. Passing score on data entry test and medical terminology test required.
