      Job Description Summary

      The Clinical Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of an Outpatient or Day Rehabilitation clinic. Establishes and administers outpatient policies and procedures in cooperation with other department heads and administrative personnel.

      Job Description

      The Clinical Manager:

      • Manages the daily operations of an Outpatient or Day Rehabilitation clinic. Compiles analyses and reports on operations and functions as appropriate.

      • Establishes and administers outpatient policies and procedures in cooperation with other department heads and administrative personnel.

      • Develops and recommends objectives aligned with the annual strategic plan and implements action plans to achieve the service objectives.

      • Recruits, develops, and evaluates clinic staff.

      • Provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary treatment team, including medical students, residents and rehabilitation interns working in the facility.

      • Collaborates with medical director and attending physicians on plans and goals ensuring that services meet organizational expectations.

      • Develops annual budget and operates according to the appropriate targets.

      • Monitors quality of patient care and rehabilitation services delivered to patients in area(s) of responsibility.

      • Oversees the analysis, review and action planning resulting from outcomes and satisfaction reports for outpatient services.

      • Oversees the quality improvement process for services.

      • Partners with Marketing representatives to develop an annual marketing plan.

      • Assures compliances with regulatory, reimbursement and accreditation requirements as well as the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab policies and procedures.

      • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

      Reporting Relationships:

      • Reports directly to assigned Administrative Director


      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

      • Required degree for a Registered Nurse or licensed Allied Health professional in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.

      • Licensure or registration in the State of Illinois, for Allied Health or Nursing discipline.

      • Minimum 7 years of related clinical experience in an appropriate specialty area with demonstrated ability to organize, develop and effectively manage a clinical business unit.

      • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing a progressive health care delivery team.

      • Knowledge of managed care.

      • Demonstrated knowledge and analytical capability in revenue and expenses.

      • Demonstrated ability to direct service growth and development.

      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to build efficient working teams.

      Working Conditions:

      • Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

      Pay and Benefits*:

      Pay Range: $95,508.19 annually - $158,537.60 annually
