      Salary Range: $47.8400 - $74.1700 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

      The Registered Nurse in GI Lab is responsible for the nursing activities related to care of the patient Pre/Intra/Post Endoscopy or Gastroenterology procedure. Must be able to function in a high volume, fast paced environment. Must be flexible in assignments. Critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal communication & customer service skills, a positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.

      The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence based outcomes to meet patient care needs. The primary responsibility of the nursing staff is to provide direct patient care and to collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. For specialty nursing units, experience in the specialty or ability to successfully complete a training program is required. Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of age of population served, and additional skills and knowledge of equipment may be required for hire into some patient care departments. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the mission of the Patient Care Services Division. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

      Job Requirements :
      • Active, Current California RN License • ACLS & BLS Certifications • 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care hospital

      Job Preferences :
      • Specialty Certification

      • ERCP and EUS experience a plus

      GI Lab Experience
      • Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of age of population served, and additional skills and knowledge of equipment may be required for hire into some patient care departments
      • If BSN has not been obtained upon hire then the Clinical Nurse I must begin the BSN program within one year of the hire date and obtain their BSN within two years of starting the program

      Essential Functions:

      • Provides quality nursing care to all patients in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, and professional regulatory standards.
      • Utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence based outcomes to meet patient care needs.
      • Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment.
      • Demonstrates leadership skills by directing personnel and establishing collegial relationships with others.
      • Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
      • Supports the mission of the Patient Care Services Division.
      • Participates in the continuous quality improvement process.
      • Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies and procedures.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Education, Training and Experience:

      Required:

      • Current licensure, or interim permit as a registered nurse in the state of California required.
      • BLS certification is required prior to clinical rotation.
      • For specialty nursing units, experience in the specialty or ability to successfully complete a training program is required.
