      Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist - Dermatology Department Chapel Allerton Full time 12 month fixed term contract An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and to join the medical dermatology team at Chapel Allerton Hospital. The successful post holder will work with the medical dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team with a focus on providing care to patients with eczema. This is a pharma funded post for a fixed term 12 month contract, and may be suitable for someone looking for a secondment to gain experience in a nurse specialist role.

      Main duties of the job

      The jobholder will be part of the Dermatology Nurse Specialist team, led by a band 7 team Manager. The jobholder will support and provide advanced nursing expertise to patients. The jobholder will work across the patients clinical pathway to deliver high quality nurse led care, and provide specialist advice to other health care professionals both in hospital and in the community. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources. The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients and families/carers.

      Candidates will be able to demonstrate good leadership qualities, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be working in collaboration with other team members looking after patients with eczema, starting and monitoring systemic and targeted therapies. The service also includes telephone advice and clinics, as well as checking and monitoring blood results The successful candidate will support the department managers and work closely with the multidisciplinary team and will demonstrate strong clinical abilities and enthusiasm. Candidates should have knowledge of the aspects of care required when caring for Dermatology patients. A relevant teaching and assessing qualification is essential, together with excellent communication, leadership and managerial skills. Experience of dermatology, together with working within an outpatient environment is desirable but not essential.
