      Job summary

      We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 6 Respiratory Nurse Specialist within the Respiratory service at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northern services (North Devon District Hospital).

      The Band 6 Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist will work in the Community and Acute setting and will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with Respiratory disease, providing effective disease management for complex patients.

      More detail about the role

      The post holder will be expected to provide best Nursing care for patients with TB, ILD, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Type 2 Respiratory Failure and those that require oxygen therapy.

      This will involve providing effective disease management for complex patients, with the aim of avoiding Hospital admission where possible and reviewing patients on the wards with a view to reduce length of stay. There is a requirement for the candidate to be able to work autonomously.

      The role requires good organisational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with integrated care partners and as a member of a team.

      There is good support from Senior members of the team, Respiratory Consultants and Respiratory Advanced Clinical Practitioners and the role provides valuable opportunities to develop clinical and management skills, whilst contributing to audits and research.

      Working Pattern: 22 hours per week, Monday to Friday, but flexible hours will be considered if requested
