      We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Pathways Matron to join across all the clinical pathways at HMP Leeds, a category X Prison located in Leeds. This is 12 month FTC and will be reviewed during this period.

      Hours

      37.5 hours a week - Monday to Friday, working 8-4.30pm with some flexibility. No weekend working.

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £57000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Clinical Matron, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Provide clinical leadership and support to the registered nurses and care teams
      • Working closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients, ensuring that own clinical practice is consistent with delivering autonomous practice.
      • You will coach and develop clinical staff; ensuring there is a supported programme of clinical supervision, managerial and 1-1 supervision and in addition embed our safeguarding assurance framework.
      • You will chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings
      • Identify learning and development opportunities based on lessons learned and themes emerging from incidents in various areas such as clinical processes, documentation, patient care as well as joint Healthcare & HMPPS processes, and work to identify and mitigate clinical risk.
      • Responsible for contributing to our Governance processes ie risk register, incident reporting, investigations, quality assurance and governance frameworks
      • Supporting nursing teams and pathway leads to implement revised or new care pathways that are required following the summary of datix themes and patient safety incidents and provide a level of assurance through dip testing/audit to ensure these are fully embedded.

      Qualifications required

      • Registered Nurse Adult
      • Current professional qualification (NMC)
      • Existing line management experience or management of teams
      • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
      • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
      • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
      • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
